Lymphedema Bras
Our lymphedema bras provide light compression support and increased comfort following surgery.
Post-surgery lymphedema bras offer several key benefits for individuals recovering from breast surgery, such as breast augmentation, reduction, or mastectomy, or following heart or chest surgery. Our bras provide consistent, gentle pressure on the surgical site, which helps reduce swelling and bruising by promoting better circulation and lymphatic drainage. They also support proper alignment and healing of the tissue, aiding in faster recovery, and provide comfort and stability during physical activities ensuring minimal movement of healing tissues.

FAQs
Which heart&core bra should I wear if I'm concerned about lymphedema?
Which heart&core bra should I wear if I'm concerned about lymphedema?
We offer three options based on your recovery stage and surgical needs:
- Larissa Bra: Best if your surgery required surgical drains. Features specialized drain management tabs to keep drains secure and comfortable.
- Serena Bra: Ideal for recovery after drains are removed or if your surgery didn't require drains.
- Shirl Bra: Featuring a double zipper that allows for adjustability in the front closure. Perfect for weight loss and accommodating changes in size.
All three bras provide gentle compression that promotes lymphatic drainage without constricting.
How does a lymphedema bra help prevent or manage swelling?
How does a lymphedema bra help prevent or manage swelling?
Lymphedema bras provide gentle, even compression across the chest and underarm area, which encourages lymphatic fluid to drain properly rather than accumulating in tissues. This compression improves circulation, reduces the risk of fluid buildup that can lead to lymphedema, and helps manage existing swelling by promoting the movement of lymphatic fluid toward healthy drainage pathways.
What is lymphedema and why does it occur after breast or chest surgery?
What is lymphedema and why does it occur after breast or chest surgery?
Lymphedema is swelling that occurs when lymphatic fluid builds up in tissues, most commonly in the arm, hand, chest, or breast area after surgery. It happens when lymph nodes are removed or damaged during procedures like mastectomy, lumpectomy, or other breast and chest surgeries. Without those lymph nodes, the body's ability to drain lymphatic fluid is compromised. While not everyone develops lymphedema after surgery, wearing supportive compression garments and following your medical team's guidance can help reduce your risk.
Are there special considerations for wearing a bra if I have lymphedema? How do I know what size to order?
Are there special considerations for wearing a bra if I have lymphedema? How do I know what size to order?
Yes—if you have or are at risk for lymphedema, it's important to avoid bras with tight bands, underwires that dig into tissue, narrow straps that create pressure points, or rough seams that can irritate skin. Our lymphedema bras are designed with these concerns in mind, featuring wide, adjustable straps that distribute weight evenly, seamless construction to prevent irritation, soft elastic bands that provide support without cutting into tissue, and breathable fabrics that reduce moisture buildup which can worsen swelling.
Can I use my FSA or HSA to purchase a lymphedema bra?
