What conditions or situations benefit from a limited mobility bra?
What conditions or situations benefit from a limited mobility bra?
Limited mobility bras are helpful for a wide range of situations beyond just post-surgical recovery. These include chronic conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, or shoulder injuries that restrict arm movement, recovery from rotator cuff surgery or frozen shoulder, neurological conditions affecting upper body mobility, temporary injuries such as broken bones or sprains, aging-related flexibility limitations, and disability or chronic pain conditions. Anyone who finds traditional back-closure bras difficult or painful to fasten can benefit from these adaptive designs.
How do I put on a front closure bra if I have very limited arm mobility?
How do I put on a front closure bra if I have very limited arm mobility?
Our front closure design makes dressing much easier. Put the bra on like a vest with the closure in front and open. Gently slide your arms through the straps without raising them overhead. Once your arms are through, use the front closure (zipper or Velcro) to secure the bra—this requires minimal arm movement and can often be done with one hand if needed. The Shirl's double zipper is especially helpful as it allows you to adjust from top or bottom for the easiest fastening angle.
Are these bras only for people recovering from surgery?
Are these bras only for people recovering from surgery?
Not at all! While our bras were originally designed for post-surgical recovery, the comfortable, adaptive design works beautifully for anyone who struggles with traditional bras, whether due to chronic conditions, aging, disability, or simply a preference for easier dressing. The soft fabrics and seamless construction also make them ideal for sensitive skin or conditions that cause discomfort with traditional bra construction.
Can I use my FSA or HSA to purchase a limited mobility bra?
